「你們蒙召的，按著肉體…有能力的不多。」

多少年裡，我們聽著無數經歷苦難的見証者，他們的故事本來是告訴別人：「上帝使我有能力經過苦難。」但對悲觀的人來說，只是一個叫他們害怕與上帝親近的信息。因為在他們心裡，上帝總愛揀選忠心於祂的人受苦，藉此去顯出祂的作為，藉此去祝福其他的人。

曾經聽過一個真實故事，有個牧師經歷了兒子的突然死去後說：「叫我相信苦難是出於人生的無常，比之叫我相信苦難是出於上帝來得舒服。」──「揀選」、「上帝是萬事背後的主宰」叫人疑惑。

沒有正式讀過神學的我，看著眼前的聖經，不敢否定「揀選」是聖經中存在的觀念，但我總是疑惑著，上帝的揀選是一件怎樣的一回事。聖經說「祂不會叫義人受苦」，但又說「因著祂，為義受逼迫是有福的」，約伯記將苦難描寫成撒但的主意，是一個經過上帝允許的壞主意，而教會卻使我相信苦難是上帝為愛他人而苦待忠心僕人的行為。

真理是怎樣的呢？或者上帝會按己意揀選人參與祂的計劃，但我不想把苦難也被描述成這計劃的一部份。說是人生無常也好，說是人的罪令人受苦也好，只是請不要說苦難也是出於上帝！

謝謝CC，她提醒了我，上帝不是刻意揀選堅強的人受苦，真相是：「軟弱的人受苦了，卻因為上帝而變得剛強。」

但願我們都將目光從自己身上轉到上帝的那裡，因為上帝召我們，不是因為我們的義，也不是因為我們有能力。「你們蒙召的，按著肉體……有能力的不多。神卻揀選了世上愚拙的，叫有智慧的羞愧。又揀選了世上軟弱的，叫那強壯的羞愧。為要廢掉那有的……使一切有血氣的，在神面前一個也不能自誇。」(林前一26-29)

A Way Out in a confused world: Simple mind, Pure heart

"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."

"Where is God? Where is heaven?", people always asked about that, even me. In Luke 17:20-21, Jesus was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God was coming, he answered them, "The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed; nor will they say, 'Lo, here it is!' or 'There!' for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you."--

Where is your God, where do you think the heaven, the paradise, or the kingdom of God is?

I wish for a peaceful heart, that is the heaven; I wish for a place where I can have the rest in the heart, that is the heaven.

People hope for a place where the joy fills their heart and the surroundings, that is the paradise.

Jesus talked/ talks about the kingdom of God, where the Lord's will would be done. The kingdom of God also signifies His second coming and the final judgment. But here, he told the disciples, "the kingdom of God is in the midst of you." --a place in our hearts, among our fellowship. It is so near...
